Ok, so I realize that this may not be the best place to post this... but I really need to vent.

For the first time in years, I decided to buy myself a new winter coat. After many stores, and the realization that winter jackets were not cheap I got really lucky and found a coat not only that fit me (Plus Size), but fit my budget as well.

Well, I have had my coat now for about...oh....two weeks, and I decided hey, why not get it all dirty!! Of course I didnt do it on purpose alot of it had to do with people parking so close to me, that I had to brush up against the cars inable to get into my car.

Anyhow, I spent nearly an hour tonight carefully following the instructions on the bottle of shout that I bought today, just for my new coat. Spray, scrub, let sit, wash.
I also read the instructions on my jacket. Wash, tumble dry on low.

Well, my coat has been in the dryer on LOW for less than 15 min. I decided to fluff up my coat just so it dries evenly.

Well dont you know... my coat has magicly morphed into a childs jacket!!

So much for my new coat!

I never ever dry my coats in the dryer. Always hang them up too dry.

My g/f did this too her daughters jacket and it melted the plastic so she retured it and she got to get another jacket. Its worth a try too take it back. Since you did follow the instructions

Absolutely take the jacket back!! Whether you got it on sale or paid full price it is still the principle! Make sure that you don't stop at the sales clerk if you don't get the answer you want. I worked with the public for many years and the squeaky wheel does get the oil but it has to be a sad "what am I gonna do?? " squeak! I hope you get this worked out, Good Luck!

Take it back girl! Bet you aren't the first person this happened to - obviously unless it's a Christian Dior ( ) or some such thing more than one was manufactured - all with the same fault! Stick up for your rights

Awe Gosh Everybody!
Thanks for the kind words!

I would love to take it back.. and I can...and I will..I bought it at Wal-Mart, and they are *usually* pretty good.
My only problem is they have no more coats left in my size
I have already called around to the Wal-Marts in a 100km radius from my house, and nobody has my size in stock.

I knew better than to put it in the dryer for a full cycyle (even thou the tag states that you can can) I just wanted to get the excess dampness out. Lesson learned I guess!

Just wanted to let you know that Pennington's sometimes has incredible deals on right now and if you get your money back from Walmart you may be surprised at what you find! I got a great coat last year for less than $100 bucks!

hello i hope your not freezing with all this snow.
i was wondering did you call the manufactors who made the coat?
reason being if you call and let them know how upsetting this is
you buy a coat in good faith
follow the instructions
do as they say
and now no coat and there are none in the area (100km) so why should you be punished and freeze for their mistake in the product that's just not right . i do hope everything works out for you and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Hey, Thats something That I never thought of....I will look into it for sure.
I wonder if Wal-Mart will give me that information.

I have since been back to Wal-Mart twice (well.. many more times than that... but twice in regards to the coat)
The last time i went, i asked them if I did the calling around, and found the coat at another Wal-Mart, would they help me set up to have it sent courier..at my cost. They were not willing to (I was kinda upset...but I guess it kinda makes sence... so much for going the extra mile for the customer.)
