DFE-530TXS 10/100 Ethernet PCI Adapter

This looks like a closeout. Staples' page doesn't say if it works with WinXP, but I had no trouble getting it to work using either the default driver that WinXP gave me or the Win2K driver that comes on the D-Link floppy.

The board is even smaller than the picture on their website. Also it has Wake-on-LAN support, including the cable, though I haven't tried this yet.

Just to add - for anyone that cares - that the txs version of this NIC card (as opposed to the regular "tx" version) has the D-link chipset rather than ... the other one. For the most part, they perform pretty much identical to each other. For 13 bucks you really can't go wrong for general purposes.

Netlinks got the TX version for the same price. Don't know for how long though since this seems to be part of their weekly promos.

Though the Staples version is a better deal if you can get the free shipping and use a coupon.

Staples have had this card in stores for months at this price. And yes, it works GREAT with WindowsXP!

Yeah, that's where I got my 530txs - at the Staples B&M store at just under 13 bucks a couple of months ago.

Didn't know that. I needed a couple of boards for the Dell Dim 2200s I bought during their Father's Day sale. Dell wanted $70 a card so I started looking around at the usual suspects and came upon the Staples deal.

BTW, both the Dells and the D-Links work great.
