For anyone who won a Bedheads t-shirt in the Hampton giveaway.

I sent them an email and got a bounce back on it. So I thought it was hopeless. But all the same I got an email from them today:

I do apologize for any inconvenience. It appears that the fulfillment center ran out of t-shirts and more had to be ordered. These shirts are expected to be sent out this week. You should receive yours by October 9th.

Yay! Looks like those of us who didn't, will still get our t-shirts.

I received this today from UPS and was required to pay GST on it.
Since I was expecting one doll, I didn't think this was from Bratz because the amount was $10.94 owing. There was actually 2 dolls and a thing to make a necklace. Valued at $70

Check the prize rules. If it doesn't state that you have to pay taxes, then you should be able to tell UPS to contact the contest company and get the taxes removed. I would never pay taxes on a prize unless it is stated in their rules. You could call UPS and explain that it was a prize and they might be able to refund you directly.

it probably was from the bratz win the prizes had 2 dolls in them depending on which package you picked.
I have to go and pick mine up tomorrow they left a card and am going to get them to remove the charge and go after the sponsor for their money. if they don't then I will go after the sponsor and rip them a new #$# for not putting prize or gift on the packages before sending them across the border either way I intend to get my money back out of the win.

Plus if i DON'T pick the up my DD will be heartbroken( SIGH)

if it wasnt valued as a gift then they would take the value and do the exchange..anything over $20 gets taxed

canadians dont pay taxes on wins regardless of what rules will state..its against the law to even put that in rules..they can, however , state that you have to pay a shipping fee (which the rules will also state, that if you press enter you are agreeing to pay the shipping fees...the metal detector contest has this in the rules as well does the one dvd site)

I got this too! I thought it was a lost cause too, so glad they are still coming!

Can somebody please tell me how to enter contests on YTV or Treehouse when the forms are designed for a child to complete? I want to enter contests for the grandbaby, but he is too young & I am too old!
