Yup, I'm getting it too, even though I subscribed from it ages ago because it seemed like the only poster was the so-called-contestqueen & you all know the kind of stuff she posts.

Over the yrs I have belonged to many different freebie sites but this is my favorite.

The mods are fair and impartial, they don't allow the board to become junked up with a lot of "vote for me crap", they keep the reposts to a minimum, they work hard to keep out the US freebies and those intended for business use (which don't come anyway...most don't arrive even if you have a legit business) and they take the time to check that answers to contests are correct.

They also don't allow the board to become a battle ground over petty little squables like so many other boards do.

I think that we all need to take a momemt from time to time to think of the hours of hard work these ladies put into the board for us. These are hours that could be spent w/ family and friends. Take a moment now and again to say thank you to Mods and let them know that you really do appreciate the time they put in here.

So if sometimes your post gets deleted or edited respect them for it instead of thinking that they are being crabby or nasty as this is not the reason behind it....it is only through actions like this that the board maintains an even and productive stride.

Ladies, thank you so much for all you do for us...you are angels all of you

Thanks so much for the appreciation. It makes us feel good to know we are doing a good job.

It should be mentioned that a big reason these things run smoothly is that Costa (the Goldfishlegs) thought very carefully about what went wrong on other sites he had seen. He then set about establishing a simple set of very clear rules that even we mods must follow. These have really stood the test of time.

Kudos for all the mods , and don't forget the guys too .

The only other freebie site I use is smartcanucks and in some ways I find it quite similar to this one, in that there are a lot of Canadian freebies and some very nice people. However, goldfishlegs definately wins over all other sites in the category of editing duplicate postings and freebies not available to Canada. It is frustrating to wade through a page only to find the freebie you are interested in "does not come" or is "UK only".

It doesn't say where you are from. A lot of the sites are good for Canadians unless you are from Quebec.
