I'm SO mad. I got the worst freebie ever last year - a one-year Club Fit membership. I went in 2 days before the gift certificate expired & they treated me like crap. They looked me up & down & talked down to me & glared like I had no business being there. Long story short, they issued me a temp membership card (that I didn't realize had an expiry date on it). One day I was going to go, but the card was expired & I was still super-pissed off about the way they treated me. So, I decided to NEVER set foot in their gym again. Today, I got a call (while I was in the shower, lucky for them) saying that my membership has almost run out & I should call them back to renew. OOOoh, they have some flipping nerve!!! I just deleted their # & message. They aren't on planetfeedback.com, either. I HATE them! Bastards!

Whenever I have a really sour experience like this one, I go higher up and make sure the company knows exactly why they will never again get one red cent of mine. A few times my comments have been received very professionally, and there was an earnest apology and compensation for the bad experience ie/ we were treated badly at the Marriott hotel in downtown TO once and the head office offered me a free night's stay next time I'm in Toronto as a result. I haven't redeemed it because I was so pissed about how snooty they were, but the gesture was appreciated.
I just wrote an email to the Bay about how stingy their men's fragrance counter-person was last night. She was all snotty when my sweetie asked about samples. Like, really! What does this grouchy old bag have to gain from being stingy with Calvin Klein's samples? I'll tell what she gained: a boycott this Xmas! (When he needs new cologne I WON'T be purchasing it there.)
And as a result of my email, the Bay knows why. I know that I'm only one consumer, but I'm not going to be ignored.
Consumers vote with dollars!
