Congratulations to you and all the new moms and moms-to-be!

Thanks lunamaya. So far everyone is having difficulty with the `'s (accents) on the letters of his name. His father, my husband, is from Ireland so we wanted to give him a traditional name in its true form.

My Ciaran was born in Ireland and his family came here when he was 7. Quite often when people read his name they would try to pronounce it phonetically ("See-air-on" type of thing). And when spelling it they'd often Americanize it i.e. Kieron. I always thought Ciaran was such a beautiful name.

And now I am with a "Graeme"(frequently misspelled by others as "Graham"). I must like men with less common names/spellings!

It puzzles many people! He was getting a fire permit last week, and spelled out his name to go on it. The fireman commented on what an unusual spelling that is, then proceeded to spell it the usual way. It's on our fridge, spelled "Graham".

I also find it funny when he gets telemarketing calls. "Hello, may I speak to Gree-mee (then his last name) please?

i love that; when people seem like they have acknowledged what you have just said but really weren't listening !
