I finally got the code in an email yesterday...but if you read the "fine print" on the contest info, you cannot submit a photo that has been published or appeared anywhere. The only pictures I have of myself are on my Facebook page. I wish they'd specified this before.

How long does it take to receive the samples...

This completely depends on what kind of samples and from where. Most from large, well-known companies take at least a month or two. For instance, the Proctor and Gamble sample packs appear to take about 6 weeks. I have received samples for some products in just days and others several months later.

If you order samples from very small companies or from other countries they usually don't come at all, and if they do they often take a long time.

Check the thread : "What freebies have you received..." and you will find out if other bowl members have started to get a particular item.

I was just able to log in and enter a contest. This is the first time I have been to the site in months, though, so maybe you could try deleting your cookies first.
