I think that the phone number or connection make a big difference and if you have a "lucky" one, you'll win.

My brother used to win at least once a week from one station alone and one year netted over $8,000 in prizes. The next year he moved house (had a new phone number) and no matter how many times he tried, he simply could never win.

I'll look forward to hearing if sethandsarah have some other technique though!
