Part of wal-marts Aniversery sale is the SP going for $66 dollars and change (Think it's $66.88 or close to that) not sure if the sale is still on though, but was a great price to pick it up at, I know the store my area had it on today (friday) still but no one really knows when it ends.

Blockbuster Video is running a promotion now where you can trade games towards a preorder. I believe there are four games you can preorder:
Xbox 360 - Gears of War
PS2 - Final Fantasy XII
Xbox - Some wrestling game
Gamecube - Zelda Twilight Princess

As I understand it, you can trade either any two Xbox 360 games, or any four Gamecube/PS2/Xbox games with a specific minimum net worth (which I also cannot recall at the moment).

Edit: I've actually done this no problem. I picked up two used Xbox 360 games from EB Games for $30, and successfully traded them for a Gears of War pre-oder. I believe this promotion is valid only until October 25, so act fast!

30% off new games priced $39.99 or less.
Blockbuster

Example: Black (PS2) $24.99 – 30% = $17.49.
Should be valid at both GameRush and non-GameRush stores.
Probably lasts till the end of the month.

40% off new games priced $29.99 or less.
Blockbuster

Example: Black (PS2) $24.99 – 40% = $14.99
The deal has been changed to 40% off new games priced $29.99 or less. This actually makes their prices pretty good.

Also, Blockbuster has another promo going that gives you a minimum of $5 per DVD movie that you trade in.

Combine the two promos to get some cheap games.

On the fence there, Leaf. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it myself at 7 (although loved it in my teens on SNES). It can get frustrating at times; some of the dungeon puzzles can seem straightfoward, but aren't.

Back to deals - Compusmart have several Xbox 360 games on sale. Lego Star Wars II for example is a mere $34.99, and the lukewarm reviewed Ninety Nine Nights is $39.99. A few others on their website, and free shipping with a minimum purchse.

Superstore’s boxing week flyer says their $18.98 games for Xbox, PS2, NGC, GBA, NDS, and PSP will be on sale for $9.98.

But as of yesterday, a lot of games have already been marked down, or should have been marked down. What I mean is: in many Superstores there are a lot of lazy electronics department employees who don’t bother to change the price tags on the shelves. So you won’t know what has been marked down until you get someone to scan it. Here are some known ones:

PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (green cover) - 9.98
Dragon Ball Z: Sagas - 4.98
Dynasty Warriors 4 - 9.98
Haunting Ground - 4.98
MLB 06: The Show - 9.98
NHL 06 - 4.98
Psychonauts - 4.98
Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 - 4.98
Tekken 5 - 4.98
Ultimate Spiderman - 4.98
World Championship Poker - 4.98
Xenosaga - 4.98

Xbox
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - 4.98
Amped - 9.98
Darkwatch - 4.98
Links 2004 - 1.44
Madden 06 - 4.98
NHL 06 - 4.98
Scooby Doo: Unmasked - 4.98
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - 4.98
Spongebob Squarepants: Lights, Camera Action - 4.98
SSX on Tour - 4.98
The Incredibles: Rise of Underminer - 4.98
Tecmo Classic Arcade - 1.44
25 to Life - 4.98

BTW, Blockbuster will give you $3 trade-in store credit for Links 2004.

Which Superstore did you go to? The one I went to the games were still $18.98. I was told that sale is only for boxing day.

The 1st paragraph refers to the coming boxing week sale.
The 2nd paragraph refers to a clearance sale that’s happening right now.

About the Superstore clearance games: I’ve been to 3 different stores and it seems that the games at clearance price ($4.98) vary by store. For example, one store will have Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes at $4.98, while a second store will have it at regular price. But the second store will have Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders at $4.98, while the first store will have it at regular price. And one store had Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 at regular price, but was on clearance for $4.98 at another store. SuperSillyStore.

I also picked up Okami (PS2) for $10, and Tales of Legendia (PS2) for $4.98.

So, if you’re interested in a game, insist that they scan it for you, even if they protest and don’t want to do it (which happened at 1 of the 3 stores I visited.).

EDIT: In other news: Shares in Loblaw Cos. fell 57 cents to $49.43 after the company said it expects to record a fourth-quarter charge of between $100 million and $120 million as it liquidates a mass of inventory, primarily non-food general merchandise.

Best Buy has Viva Piñata (X360) for $19.99 this week. Their online store has it in stock. Shipping is not free. Because of a buying frenzy, it will be hard to find any left in Best Buy and Future Shop stores.

However, the game will scan in at $19.83 at Wal-Mart. I verified this today at a local Wal-Mart in Ontario. If it doesn’t scan in at that price, you can do a price-match by bringing in the current Best Buy flyer.
