My tongue-in-cheek comments:
Brokeback Mountain: Beautiful looking movie, somewhat interesting love story, but I somehow couldn’t relate to the main characters and their angry, pushy sex.
Capote: Holy geez, could a movie be any more boring? Someone please tell Hoffman to not leave his mouth hanging open when he’s acting. The Oscar for best falsetto performance by an actor in a leading role goes to… Philip Seymour Hoffman!
Crash: Too full of itself, and felt too self-righteous. Needed to acknowledge the ambiguity of morality more. Someone told me I would see Holly Hunter (aka Elastigirl) naked, but I was sadly disappointed.
Good Night, and Good Luck: Yes, a movie can be more boring than Capote. It’s good that this part of history be not forgotten, but couldn’t they make it more entertaining? I’d rather stand in line for hours for butter rations than watch this movie again.
Munich: Steven Spielberg always surprises me with his varied and masterful ways of portraying violence on screen. This time he combines violence with sex. Genius! Still, I liked this movie more than the ones above. HULK SMASH!!
King Kong: Great fun, great adventure! Oh wait, it wasn’t nominated.
Please add your thoughts.
