Future Shop has 'Star Wars : Phantom Menace Special Edition (2 Discs)' listed on the DVD home page already...to be released Oct 16th...that's more than 3 months.

Someone is trying to get every dollar possible from this one. I think is will backfire though...everyone will just get sick of seeing it on the page when you can't get it anytime soon, and forget to actually order it when the time comes.

TPM is a HUGE release for DVD and they know the rabid fans will eat this up as soon as they get a chance to order it.

All the etailers that can are trying - from a profit standpoint you can't blame them.

Personally, I think the closer we get to the release date, the lower the price will be as they retailers fight each other...

Amazon has had the DVD available for preorder for at least 3-4 weeks already. In any case, remember how ludicrous pre-ordering for the Playstation 2 was? I agree with , Lucas releasing ANY Star Wars film on DVD is a huge deal.

I've also seen some rumours that they will release the triilogy this year as well. Star Wars came out in 1976, the re-vamped "Special Edition" came out in 1996, the 20th anniversary and 2001 is the 25th anniversary. Do, or do not, there is no try.

Yes, every Tom, Dick, & B&M store will have it for sale. I'm sure there will be deals upon deals. Last I checked, Futureshop never gave a discount when pre-ordering so why place an order now?

Lately, IMHO, new arrivals from Futureshop have been coming in late. So I'm stuck waiting for the order to arrive, when I could go over to Wal-mart and pick up a copy right away.

Ooooohhh, Harriet the Spy, Good Burger (2 disk set!) and Snow Day, all in one convenient bundle! Sounds like a can't miss deal.

Good Burger is a kickass funny movie. It like the great 80's UHF but not that good. If you liked the receny Dirty Work movie than you'll laugh your butt off. Heak it's got Fish from the old Barney Miller Show (he's still alive) and puts him into a burger joint full of wacky teenagers!

Fox has unveiled the full specs for The Simpsons: The Complete First Season, due on 9/25. Spread across three discs, the set features the thirteen episodes. Actually, the price will rise after the first season as it had many less episodes than the other seasons.

Does anyone know, can you place an order with Futureshop and ask to pickup in a local store?? I would like to place a pre-order for TPM, just in case there's a shortage when it comes out and I don't want to wait. But, I really don't want to pay for their outgrageous shipping charges.
