What is up with Universal and delaying dvd release dates in Canada. For the past while, occaisionally, for no explainable reason, they delay certain releases in canada for one to two weeks or more, while the US get the disc day and date (for example Bring It On) and now Josie and the Pussycats (which is actually really really good). I was really looking forward to this disc today, guess I"ll have to wait... same with the disc for the highly underrated and overlooked flick GET OVER IT..also delayed... why, why why??

I know people are sick of delayed bitching...but why is it that Universal does this, is there a reason?

Canadian release dates are not the same as the US release dates. Granted, most major studios release their stuff on the same day most of the time, but that's not always the truth.

According to C&L (www.cnl.com), which is quite reliable in this respect, this DVD will be available on Aug 21.

The release date is now August 21, but, this was only after a change from the 14th... and most studios actually don't set different dates, the canadian and us dates are almost always the same... in fact, it's usually just Universal titles, not the big titles, but lesser ones (the Ultimate Editions with the exception of American Pie were also delayed a week)... is this so that US people don't buy from a canadian retailer and save the difference... I know I have no patiences, so that may be it.
