Loved the super stylish, post millenium, amped up, graphic flash and ooze. Definite re-viewing value here. Overall the terrifically dark storyline had one sequence too many for my liking, though I don't know which one I'd pull, the whole thing woulda been a lot stronger if it were 20 minutes shorter...

4 out of 5.

Wow! I actually saw a movie this week and it was "Sin City". We really grooved on the comic book style and you can't get too gruesome for Mrs. CC - so a good time was had by all.

I'm nervous about seeing it. I've been a fan of the comic for a while now, so I'm afraid I'll be jaded by that and not be able to fully enjoy it. Although, Frank Miller was heavily involved in the project, so if it meets his standards I might be all turned around on this...

In an interview, Rodriguez said he and Miller "argued" about who should have the 'director' credit. Rodriguez was getting crap from the unions, so he wanted to make Miller sole director. Miller refused, wanting both of their names listed as director. When was the last time you heard a story like this come out of Hollywood? Most of the time it's dog-eat-dog...

I guess you can safely call that being "heavily involved".

(BTW, Rod solved the union problem by quiting the Director's Guild. )

I was afraid that too many cooks in the kitchen would spoil this movie, but it turned out really tasty.

Your wish might come true. I read that each of the stories was filmed in entirety, and was then edited down to make the movie a reasonable length. But the DVD will possibly include the full versions of each story. I don't know how the extra footage will be presented, though.
