I really enjoyed this movie.

Anyone who's given a moment's thought to the 'new' James Bond rumours -- give your head a shake --- this is it! MMcC is the new Jimmy B.! Steve Z. is an invaluable asset to any enterprise he's attached to and Penelope C. is indisputably hot, if underutilized here. This is a very pleasantly complex, campy, hoot of a crazy super spy gadget flick.

C'mon! Let go of your pre-conceptions - don't let the fan-boys rule your thought patterns. This is one freakin' entertaining old-fashioned picture show with enough smarts to keep the whole dang thing floatin'...

No, you misunderstood - if you read back through his history here in the Bowl, that is seriously a very high compliment from vangleason - those are tears of joy!

I have to say that I also loved this movie. It was exactly what I expected based on the previews. It was hilarious - Steve Zahn was great and I thought the liberal use of Skynyrd on the soundtrack fit with the Civil War battleship part of the storyline. The plot is supposed to be unbelievable and the action sequences are totally ridiculous - they jump from camels onto a moving train, fire a hundred + year old cannon and actually hit a helicopter and make a wind-surfer out of a plane wreck & use it to cross the desert - but in a great way. I loved it in the way I love junk food - I know it's not quality, but I'm unapologetic about how much I enjoyed it. Then again, I've been known to enjoy the "mind-numbing rythym of a music video" as well...!

vangleason - I can't recall, have you ever liked what would be considered a "mainstream" movie? I'm not implying anything (yet ), just an innocent question.

Me and Mrs. CC saw this one on Tuesday - I think that's two movies now within one month - wow!

Unfortunately, I didn't think it was a particularly good movie, maybe a passable timewaster. We both did enjoy Steve Zahn and the buddy interplay, but overall the story was really going nowhere fast. I think we just might be a little too young for the Dirk Pitt target audience - my parents love those Clive Cussler books.
