I have been putting off buying reusable shopping bags, but I feel now is the time lol

What is your favorite brand? Sobeys, Superstore, Cdn Tire etc?

I want the best deal for my 99 cents.

Holds the most, last longest etc.

My favourtie are the canvas Sobesy's - they pack small, are really durable, lots fits in, handles the correct length for me, washable.

But the down size is they are really hard to find. Almost impossible. I have only two and would love at least four more.

We use green bins. Picked them up from the Superstore, I think they are a PC product and so only available at PC-carrying stores.

Don't limit yourself to only one kind and only one size. I have a multitude of both - smaller black fabric ones from extra foods are really nice; the larger ones from Canadian tire are good; I have a freebie purple one from some Organic food thing I signed up for a while back; I have 2 Fabricland bags; a totally wipeable bag from Telus I got free last year while Xmas shopping; I only have one of the Walmart bags (I couldn't resist the fall scene on the bag at the time & I now see they have a very pretty winter bag); plus more!! I keep them nicely folded inside the biggest bag & store them in my vehicle. When I go somewhere that I may need a bag, I "guesstimate" what size and how many I need and go from there. And if I don't know what I may need, I just have to grab the one bag and I have them all with me. I have even been known to take a rubbermaid tote with me when I go grocery shopping when I know I am going to be buying a lot of meat. I love to challenge myself to "shop bag-free"

It's more fun to color outside the lines!

I have so many bags that we have received as freebies, from conferences, travel agencies etc. I am sure other people have recieved them and not wanted them. Why not try looking in a second store, you may get a variety of types and sizes fairly cheap there.

I have to agree with Antybird that a variety is best - the Walmart bags with the pretty pictures tend to be waterproof and thats good for meats etc. But my favourite bag was also from Walmart and was a green bag which folds up then snaps together to make a small package you can fit in your purse. Don't know if they still have them though.

I have 7 of those reusable bags, some I got free, some were 2/.99 and others were .99

I never use the bags ie from Sobeys to shop at Sobeys or Food Basics to shop at FB. Why? Never any confusion as are the bags brand new or are they my own. Can't charge me for a bag if it's not from their store.

good sale + coupon = smiley me

I use a mix of Superstore and Sobeys ones but one I do like is the ones from the bulkbarn, theyre bright and colourful with candy and food on them, and they have 2 different lengths of handles on them for if your going to carry it or sling it on your shoulder. I always take that one when i'm heading to the mall for a few things.

My absolute favourite bags are from Ikea. They are made from tarp material, are huge and have two handles for different carrying lengths...they seem to last forever. We even use them for laundry, bringing in firewood and for the beach. Great bags.

My favorite so far are the smaller Superstore ones.

I use a mix of sizes from various stores, but I seem to have a lot of the Walmart ones from the past promotion where you got one free every time you bought a Quaker product. When I go to the grocery store I just hand them all over to the cashier and she fills them up. And that is where the problem lies. The darned Walmart ones are quite large and weigh a ton by the time she's done filling them up.
I need to invest in some more of the smaller ones, so that the weight isn't so bad.

Also, be sure to cut the scan code off of it when you get home, that way they know you bought the bag on a previous trip and didn't just pick it up out of the display.
