It bugs me when I see litter lying around on the ground...even worse is running over a bag of McDonald's garbage while driving! Why do some people not have the decency to put garbage where it belongs?

Are there really people out there that can justify leaving garbage anywhere but the trash bin?!

(My high school principal was a former navy man and used to pick up garbage off the ground all the time, 'cause he liked to keep the place spic and span like on a ship... )

When you do it by mistake, that's a different story... i.e., a chocolate bar wrapper drops out of your pocket, but you don't notice. But if you DO notice, then you're guilty.

I hate litter!

I remember one time my son, when he was 3, threw
something out the car window. I had to stop the car
and pick it up! If it had been an apple core, or something
that an animal or someone could use, well that's
a different story, I probably would have left it.
But fast food wrappers! Yuk! So I try to explain
to the kids that if everyone did that, there would
be no room to play, there would just be garbage
everywhere.

Apparently there's now a big problem with plastic soft drink bottles littering our highways. Because the cap can be screwed back on, it seems that male truckers and other long distance drivers refill them after extracting the sugar, then toss them out the window How gross

I remember once, in Switzerland, sitting on a train as it stopped at a commuter station. A bunch of school kids ran to get on the train. A wrapper fell out of one girl's pocket. Another girl stopped her and pointed to the wrapper. The first girl then ran back, picked up the wrapper, and tossed it in a garbage container. As a result she almost missed the train. Imagine that in Canada!

Last week I found my 2 1/2 year old daughter sucking on a cigarette butt What makes smokers think it is Okay to throw their butts on the ground. It's disgusting.

I park my car in an underground parking lot. As you wait for the garage door to open, you notice the corner of the floor covered in gum, cig butts and fast food drink containers

I live in a respectable area, what makes these people throw things out their window while waiting for the door to open? Are they that lazy to wait 1 more minute to throw it in their house garbage? (Yes they are of course)

idiots! I'm going to put a sign out out there to tell them this!!

That's one of the worst... What really peeves me off is when I'm driving behind someone on the highway, and they fling a cigarette butt out the window, still lit!

one time while driving on the Gardiner expressway, some dumbo driving in front of me decides to throw a plastic bag out the window, which eventually gets stuck to the bottom of my car. since it is too dangerous to get out of the car and look for it, I had to drive with that bag flapping all the way into town

I was driving behind a guy that was throwing out his old lottery tickets out the window. I hate people that litter.

usually once a person sees one piece of garbage on the ground, then he/she assumes that it's ok to continue littering on that spot. but most of them think twice if the area is litter free.

I can't stand people throwing cigarette butts out the window of their car. Its bad enough they smoke (imho) but they definately don't have to litter while doing it. I can't count how many times and how close I have come some time to getting out of my car when someone in front of me does that at a stop light, grabbing the butt and opening their door and saying politely "I think you dropped this" while throwing it into their lap or car somewhere still lit....

Not littering and wearing my seatbelt are the two things that my mother was strict about when I was growing up. So the thought of littering doesn't even cross my mind.....

I get so mad when I see people throw garbage on the street.
I often, pick it up and give it back to them.

Owning a convertible I can definitely relate to this pet peeve!
