Alien

Sonja: Sex without love is an empty experience.
Boris: Yes, but as far as empty experiences go, it's one of the best.

Mine was the Pit and the Pendulum. Freaked me right out. I don't know that it was a horror movie though.

I'm finding it difficult to find a movie that genuinely scares me.

- Exorcist almost did it -- but it was more disturbing than scary.
- The Shining was very, very creepy. That music and that rotting old woman...
- Jacob's Ladder also freaked me out. It seemed like a regular drama at first, but then weird stuff starts happening in quick bursts and that gave me some uneasy jolts.

More, I want more!

Have you seen exorcist III? I know, I know.. sequels are usually stupid.. Well, this one is, mostly.. but there is one scene that *still* scares me @#$!less.. I'm sure it would be a 99cent rental somewhere its worth it just for that one scene, you'll know it when you see it (shot down a hallway)

Gawd, just thinking of that scene gives me the willies *brr*

I've seen so many horror films its hard to think of the scariest.

For me, the scary films are those that leave me feeling uncomfortable long after the film is over.

The two which come to mind...

Exorcist (original)
Phantasm

So did I. I thought that the spider walk should have definitely been left in the movie, and it only adds to the movies scariness. In fact, the spider walk is probably my favorite part of the movie.

Another one that creeped me out was The Others. I saw it twice. The first time, I liked it, thought it was creepy, but that was about it. The second time I saw it, it was a part of a double feature with Serendipity, and I had nightmares about it (The Others, that is ).

I also found What Lies Beneath to be a great scary movie the first time you see it. I have seen it a few times, but I like watching the people who are watching it for the first time. My girlfriend was terrified when she saw it and refused to drive by herself for a while...

Personally, I never thought "The Exorcist" was scary at all. The "possession by the devil" concept is just too hokey for me to take it seriously. However, I thought "Prince Of Darkness" was genuinely scary.

Sonja: Sex without love is an empty experience.
Boris: Yes, but as far as empty experiences go, it's one of the best.
