Well Termit, I'm sure that your house looks lovely with Christmas barf all over it! My tree doesen't go up until the beginning of December. Not only am I afraid that the charm will wear off by Christmas if I put it up too early, but hubby has a German Shepard who has a baseball bat instead of a tail, and that's really hard on my ornaments!

With 4 kids, the youngest being 2 1/2, and a dog, you gotta know my tree won't go up till mid December, not that we wouldn't want it up earlier, I just want it to be in one piece

God put me here to accomplish certain things; right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!

For the last 2 years we were fine, but this year, I know she's going to get into that tree, if she doesn't knock it down on her, I can just see it now Saddest part is I'll probably laugh first, then pick up the tree, I'm bad that way

Just don't use your favorite ornaments!!! My poor mom! One year my 20lb cat, delighted to see the outdoors brought in, climbed the Christmas tree, knocked it over, and broke several of my mothers ornaments that her great grandmother had in England before the turn of the century. Now that really sucked. My cat made my mom cry on Christmas.

I'd say, my mom had a Dalmation, they are hyper, knocked her tree down at least 4-5 times every year

Just wanted to say I have two dogs and I know what it is like to have a tree knocked down. The solution I came up with is before my tree is even decorated we put a strong string around the middle and tie it to the wall. It is in the corner so you don't see that it is tied. I use a cup hook to tie the string too and just take it out when I take down the tree. It should work wherever you put the tree. Hope this helps someone. Better to be safe than sorry.

Merry Christmas everyone

My mom found a solution to this too. She enlisted my husband to make her a small(compared to the real kind) picket fence with hinges at the corners, to go around the tree. It keeps the dogs farther away, little fingers from grabbing ornaments, and it contains the gifts under there from taking up the whole room. Why don't I have one? Because hubby does what anyone else asks, just not when I want one!!

My hubby is like that too!! His mother & I bought strawberry bushes, hers got planted with nice large wholes & manure & stuff put in & little fence around them, mine got pretty much thrown in the ground... It's a (little) sore spot when I have to hear how well hers are doing... Hubby will be replanting some for me next year, my bet is I get it done properly this time...lol...

I think the problem is, they are so busy doing stuff for other people, you get left out! Hardly the position I want to be in, considering I am supposedly the love of his life!

Now you get mom to do a sneaky for you and you get her to go up to hubby and say ya know I really would love to have another one of those wonderful gates that you made however I'd like it just a tad bigger and this color (so the weenie can't say why don't I just paint the other one) and then mom gives it too you once hubby completes the project. That will fix his little red wagon
