Speaking for my own situation, I have the Royal Bank's Talk and save 7.9c/min 24/7 Canada and US, no monthly fee, and a free toll free number (which for me is really useful). To get it I think you have to have a RBC Visa which the bill is billed to. I don't call international so I can't comment on those costs. My only complaint is a rediculously wasteful phone bill. (Many pages of your calling analysis).

I've used Yak for many months with no issues EXCEPT that sending faxes works very poorly. Either the fax takes minutes per page to send, or it actually fails to go. I've tried this a few times with the same results, and now use regular Bell LD for long-distance faxing.

Has anybody else had a problem sending faxes over Yak?

Nope. Being using Yak for faxes (to the US and Canada) for ~6 months with no problems at all.
