Yes, I got my iron with 20% off.

LNT are really good with their coupon deals, as I always try to combine it with 3 for 2 offer or other.

At my store they don't even mind if you split your purchase into two transactions and use 2 coupons! This means I don't have to keep dragging my husband there!

Just a head's up for all you Zellers shoppers. We get our flyers on the Friday (sale starts on the Saturday). I found this out by chance.

This is common practice on Vancouver Island... if you go to Zellers on the Friday evening before the sale starts on the Saturday, chances are you'll get the really good deals at the sale price on the Friday!! We once got a Bed-in-a-Bag (Queen) for $40 on the Friday - they were gone by mid-afternoon on the Saturday!!!

Good Luck!!!

Just Married, August 2009!

The 2 stores here in Dartmouth, NS stick white pages stating "Starts Saturday" on top of their sale signs, so no matter what we can't get the sale price on Friday night. We used to and loved going shopping alone, hubby at home with the kids. Three (3) Christmases ago, a flyer came out with Lego's manufactory blowout written all over. I was told on the Saturday morning that they were gone the night before and since then the store (I know of this one in Cole Harbour) post their sale signs covered until Saturday morning.

But last year a salesperson forgot to remove the sale sign of the shelf and I got three pairs of Hot Paws Mittens at half price (like the sign said) even though the sale was over.

good sale + coupon = smiley me

Yep found this out one time when the Anne Gedde dolls were on sale for $10 and my mom went over there on Friday nite to get someting else and she told me that ppl were grabbing them big time. So i called and they were all out and called around to others and they were all out till i found one that said that they couldn;t get near them because they were in the back of there storage room and for sure they would not be put out till Saturday. So i got there early on Saturday and got 4. But if my mom never would have saw that ppl were getting them friday nite i would have waited in line on saturday morning and not got one. And i wouldn't have been a happy camper

If you purchase an item and then realize that it was going on sale a few days afterwards, just take your bill in to the Customer Service, and they will normally honour the sale price and refund the difference to you.

That's true. I've done that at Canadian Tire and Zellers. I even brought a Toys'R'Us flyer to Zellers to show that an item I had bought a week earlier was priced lower at Toys'R'Us and Zellers refunded me the difference. If they hadn't refunded it, I would have returned it and gone to Toys'R'Us, and they know that.

Exactly - and the stores don't want to lose business by offering bad customer service. I worked at our local Zellers for years and we always bent over backwards to make sure that the customer was happy. If the sale item they wanted was all sold out I would always substute a similar or better item with the same percentage discount. It's just good business.
How's your New Year Brat - any good wins lately?

It's been pretty dry, so far, Warmley. Last win I had was the $150 from Zantac, but that's nothing to sneeze at.

Oh I know the ins out outs of comp'ing, refund up to 2 weeks for an item that has gone on sale after you've purchased it--granted you show up at the store with receipt and during the sale period, asking for rainchecks, and sometimes if I need it bad enough I'll approach a salesclerk and ask if he/she would substitute the item for another one--and most times I've done this I've been lucky. My father-in-law has worked for Zellers for many years now and he's the one that taught me all the tricks. I've been comp'ing for about 8 to 9 years now. They see me coming with my flyers...... then I feel bad for the people behind me, waiting. NOT. Well, a little. LOL

Want to hear a funny one? When it's seniors' day at Zellers my in-laws comp like crazy, even if it's not something they need right away but will be used in the next couple of months. Before September when Zellers reduced the employee discount and valid only on selected items, my mom-in-law stacked up on 24 packs of 16 double rolls of bathroom tissue (and many many more items all on sale of course), minus his employee discount, minus the seniors' discount and a many coupons she said that some of the stuff Zellers pretty much nearly paid them to take home!! Got to love that. Now I joke with her--what left in your bomb's shelter!
