Hey does anyone know how I can get a free genealogy CD download. I am searching my ancestors and keep running into "ancestry.com" It wants a lot of money to join.

What type of info are you looking for? A form to keep track of info, or a program that will get you into other sites? Not quite sure.

Here's a free program you can download. It's called Legacy. I found it while doing some family tree stuff online .. worth checking out. It says it's the full retail version and you can get it for free ...

You can download Personal Ancestral File from the LDS Family Search site - www.familysearch.org
click on order/download products, then click on Software Downloads - Free.

PAF is a very good program that will help you enter all your family data as you research. You can also do lots of searches on this web site on the IGI, census, etc.
You don't have to be affiliated with the LDS Church, their Genealogy and archival projects are world renowned, and they don't charge you any money to search the records.
