Hey Nemo, do you have a link? I haven't seen or read the whole thing and would like to. From what I've heard though, wasn't he basically denying the way Brooke was feeling after childbirth? Wasn't childbirth the cause of her depression and there were no other issues involved?

Here's a link to the whole transcript:
Today show
I think it was deplorable for him to publicly air his thoughts about brooke shields. I saw her on oprah and feel she was very brave to come forward with her story. He's entitled to his opinion, but someone so in the public eye should consider keeping his opinions to himself...
Personally, I read the transcript and i saw clips from the interview and he did seem rather manic. Like, honest to god, how many times can he say "Matt, matt, matt, listen to me matt...". i agree with autumn... if ever i've seen someone manically and 'imbalanced', chemical or otherwise - it was then...
as the old saying goes... walk a mile in the other person's shoes..
Brooke Shields retort is good: "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Mr. Cruise has never suffered from postpartum depression."
yeah, i'd bet tom has never had the experience of having his estrogen and progesterone levels plummet after childbirth...

You know, I just read the whole transcript for the Today Show and I think that Tom Cruise had very valid points and was in no way disrespecting anyone. Nemo

I will agree that he had some valid points, but I think some of these comments, while i suppose not technically 'disrespectful' are just a tad ludicrous:
I know that psychiatry is a pseudo science.
...
You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do.
...
There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance.
...
And she doesn't understand the history of psychiatry. She doesn't understand in the same way that you don't understand it, Matt.
...
Matt. Matt, Matt, you don't even — you're glib.

and where exactly did he get all this 'knowledge' - propaganda from the scientology machine?
