I was just thinking about the exchange the other day.... I would love to join again this year!

Yippeee!! is it exchange time already?? count me in Termit!! I love this exchange usually I'm a bit of a bah humbug Pre christmas ( financially based crankiness!!) but I find that this exchange gets me in the right spirit!

I don't mind doing this for Jahnisha but i would rather not get into finding partners for everyones kids. I started this exchange for the members of the bowl,(a lot of whom don't get much at Christmas because they are plannning family christmas's) So this is something just for us. Keeping track of those is plenty. Hope that doesn't sound nasty and everyone understands.

Just my two cents as a moderator:
I want to back termit up on this one. I don't really think it is a terrific idea to include children either.

The sad truth is some gifts get lost, are late, or are just plain disappointing. As adults some members have had trouble dealing with this. It is unfair to subject children to this possibility.
The other point is that many fish don't actually receive many gifts but their children do-because all the mommy-fish are busy planning their children's Christmas.

If you want the chance to buy a gift for a child you don't know, I think a better idea is to participate in one of the many charities that collect gifts for under-privileged children. You could help make someone who really needs it have a brighter Christmas.

I also just thought that someone should say (because Termit is way to modest to say so!) that looking after the fishy exchange is already a tremendous amount of work on Termits part, (I know, I know that she does it of her own free will!) but I don't think that it would be fair to expect her to take on the additional work of looking after a childrens exchange.

At my kids school for kids in grade 6 and up the kids have the option of participating in a "secret santa" gift exchange perhaps you could suggest it where your child goes to school and maybe get something started there, just a thought!

I would love to take part again this year. It was so exciting last year with my family bugging me to open the gift early and being just as excited as I was.
I can also offer up a teen for the person with a son and maybe even match up all four of us as just two and we can then take care of the details ourselves.

It's nice to offer the teen a gift, but not when it's just used as a chance to start yet another argument. There are message boards designed just for that. Bet you'd like them.

Ya know I have to agree with mefirst on this one, termit replied to jahnisha's post, I don't see why everyone else had to add their 2 cents as well, even a moderator had to get in on it!

I believe Jahnisha wanted to do this with another fishy not expect termit to take care of it!
