My son wore his new & fairly expensive winter coat to a friends house, friend has little dogs 1 of which peed on the coat. I have washed the coat soooo many times and cannot get the scent out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!
Laura

you can get a pet stain remover at most grocery stores or a bif store like Walmart-it will say something like pheromone remover on it-it should eliminate the smell and the stain

wins to date $155

I would try a product hunters use to eliminate scent....you can get it as a clothes wash or in a spray.

Hydrogen Peroxide, the kind you buy at the grocery store will get the smell out...3 % strength I think. Just pour it on and let it sit...or pour it in the washing machine and let it sit for 1/2 hr or so. Will not harm coloured fabrics either. Works great for cat pee too!!

I use a pet stain treatment product called (I think) NoStain - contains enzymes that break the proteins down destroying the odor. Meant for dog pee and vomit stains etc but is great to have on hand even if there is no dog.

With this product you get it wet, let it set so the enzymes can eat the protein and then blot dry... or in your case, wash.

Another option would be a soak in a bucket of warm water with AMAZE laundry booster (found it at London Drugs). Great stuff. Really gets out odours. Widely touted for cleaning cloth diapers so you know its gonna be effective.
