I never said your posts were excessive. Please reread my post. As a moderator here I was just clarifying our policy, since some people seemed to think that thankyou's were not allowed.
Of course, on the other hand, we do not want threads that are composed of mainly thankyou's, as I have seen on some other boards.

OK, so I get an email telling me there is a new post in the contest thread, and I go to the bowl to investigate this fabulous new contest information only to find a post that is comprised of the two words "thank you" and I think to myself: "Who could possibly think a post like that constitutes real actual sincere gratitude?" They aren't actually thanking ANYONE for doing ANYTHING - they are just shouting "THANK YOU!" to a bunch of strangers.
This insincere praise is thus rendered meaningless; if you wish to thank someone for something then you should direct that message to that person (via private message) and specify why you are singling them out for praise. I for one am certainly glad that not every one of the thousands of people who visits this board posts a message each time some other person posts useful contest information we would be completely inundated with a barrage of 'thank you's and would not be able to find the contests!
And as for using these otherwise meaningless messages as markers or placeholders, I would like to respectfully ask that you please find a less intrusive technique for organizing your contests. There are numerous software solutions available, but a simple pencil and piece of paper is all you really need.
Thank you
