I've noticed a couple of common beard fallacies repeated here that I'd like to debunk:

First, unless you go for the "Don Johnson Miami Vice five o'clock shadow so-called 'beard' ", beards are not scratchy, but rather soft and luxurious...

Second, beards are not for lazy guys who don't like to shave (unless you like that neck-beard look Tom Cruise had in the posted pic) -- I find a properly maintained beard takes as much, if not more, work than that bald-face thing...

Really, these are both just part of the anti-beard propaganda campaign that has swept our community since the late 70's. You have to have strong self esteem to have a beard, because you have to endure negative comments on a regular basis. As the vote shows, the majority of women are anti-beard and many quite vociferously! (Luckily, there is an enlightened minority of women who will take on the bearded and love and appreciate them for the true men we are...)

Actually, I find that maintaining a trimmed (full) beard is a lot easier than being clean-shaven...

Wow! You gals are great! I think the facial hair lives! At least for a while longer. Maybe a clean look in the summer...

Cheers to all!

It's genetically impossible for me to grow a beard. Do I still get to vote?

Personally i do not like my hubby with a beard, I prefere the "smooth as a baby's butt" look
But i do agree, beards, go-tee's, facial hair does suit some people better.

I do not like a beard on my husband ( or too many other men for that case) I find it makes them look way older then they are

Woe is me! The only look I can attain is the Tom Cruise-wannabe stubbleish 5-o-clock whatever thingy. But who wants that? All movie stars look like idiots anyways.

OMG!! Are you one of those hairless breeds too??!

One of my ex-es has like barely any body hair....when he was about to turn 19 we had this inside joke that he would 'become a man' and start sprouting hair But he still doesn't have much.

I like both....I guess it really depends on who.
My bfriend had a goatee/stache when I met him, then he shaved it off and I was like.....'this is weird, you look weird' (the funny shaped face thing that bcmom mentioned) until I got use to it ~ but I REALLY liked kissing him without....it was a whole new sensation. It also makes him look younger as well....which on him I like

BUT that doesn't mean I don't like it on other guys.

Definitely! I especially like it when they have a few grey hairs. But I've always had this thing for older men

(I do shave it off about once a decade to let my face air out...)

Well, I've never been much for facial hair, until I got together with my bf. Honestly, without a 'stache, he looks goofy! He has these gorgeous, kissable lips, but when they are visible, they stick out! I love him WITH facial hair.

I can grow a goatee, but not a full beard. No chest or back hair (thank goodness) but lots of leg hair, more than any of my brothers, so I think I might be adopted. My mom tells me that she lost sight of me while we were in Singapore. Maybe she couldn't find her real son and decided to pick me up instead.

Dave.
