Does anyone know of a good face cream or anything else to help with severe dry skin on my face, i always get this when furnace season kicks in. My face is not peeling yet but it is so tight and sore....i have been using olay, tried the loreal genisis, nothing is helping....i even tried olive oil and good old vaseline and still no relief.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Neutrogena Comfort Cream...it is the only cream that works for me...not just my face. I use to get such dry skin on my hands and it would crack and bleed. I haven't had that problem since I bought this stuff. I use it on my legs in the winter a lot. I love this cream!

The best cream I have ever used is called Hempz. It is an all over body moisturizer and is found at salons. My salon sells it for $19.99 and the bottle is 18 oz/500 ml. It's nice and thick, but not greasy and a lot of my clients( I'm a nail tech) use it on their face. Maybe it would work for you. Winter is the worst for skin, mostly because of the increased heat/lack of indoor moisture in the air.

Here' a link so you can see what the product looks like, you should be able to find it in any mall salon, or retail professional product outlet.

I love it for my feet. Also the smell is awesome. My customers LOVE it!

There's also a similar item available at the Body Shop , not sure what it's called though but I do know they sell many hemp products there.

Seems to me if it is so bad that even olive oil & vaseline won't work you perhaps need a prescription cream?

Having said that, 2 that work for me are St. Ives Swiss Formula and Life brand Vitamin A skin cream - you need to slather these on in both cases.

If you find something let us know - I'm sure lots of fishies suffer from this problem

if you looked at my face it doesn't look bad right now....it feels like my face was washed with a strong soap or cleanser and not applying face cream to it after... i have been trying everything....it just feels like nothing will sink in my skin...does that make any sense? i have to keep applying cream every few hours and sleep with olive oil at night. if i go ask a doctor for a RX he will probably laugh at me

Try Tea Tree Oil soap, I think this may help you. Tea Tree oil is good for a lot of different problems, especially skin.
You usually can find it in the Bulk Barn or any Natural store, I hope that it will work for you.

I find using cleansers really zap out the moisture on my face ,so now I only clean with water and every few days I use DOVE sensitive (foaming) cleasner...just a pea sized drop..and rinse well.
I've used L'oreal' AGE PERFECT creme and its good, but how about trying the NIGHT Age Perfect deep moisturizing creme

When I went to the Dr. with an excema problem and severe dry skin, she recommended EUCERIN. There are several different kinds to treat severe dry skin......I found the 10% Eucerin works great. I bought it at Shoppers.
To clean my face I use Cetaphil(no soap in it)...I also bought this at Shoppers.

I recently went to dermatologist with dry skin and some eczema on legs and she recommended lipikar products which i easily found in local drugstore, somewhat pricey but she looks like she knows skin, so i will give it a try:

I AGREE!! 100% I was going to suggest this product then i seen this post, I as well have the same problem with tight and dry face in the winter months, and I use the hempz cream everyday!! It smells so good i could eat it, its a bit expensive but it lasts forever, its not greasy(I hate cream that is greasy) I discovered this product and will never use anyother cream.

i have a skin disease called Ichtyosis and have struggled with it all my life and have tried A LOT of creams, both prescription and otc. I now use the Aveeno knock-off from Walmart. It is the best.
It's very cheap which is important because I go through a bottle in less than a week (because if my skin gets wet I have to instantly apply cream)

One thing that many people may not consider is that the condition of our skin depends a LOT on what we eat.

a healthy skin diet includes:

BETA-CAROTENE (yellow and green (leafy) vegetables such as spinach, carrots and red peppers, and yellow fruit such as mango, melon and apricots)

WATER lots of water

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS (flax seeds or nuts, salmon, cauliflower)

SULFUR (garlic, onion, eggs)

just try including at least one from each group daily and see after about two weeks if it helps.
